Lake Powell 2013
We spent the past couple days in Lake Powell. My family went down so we thought we would tag along for a little getaway. My parents and sisters went and then they invited 4 other families (Steve and Heather Skanchy, John and Jodi Russell, Dale and Becky Gledhill, Mike and Juliette Salazar, and all of their families). Everyone had a blast. The houseboat was so fun, especially with lots of good company. We had 3 ski boats and 4 wave runners. Eric and I were on the wave runners most of the trip. Macie loved going on the wave runners with Eric because he would go so fast. It was nice to go down to the lake and just relax for a couple of days and spend time with family. It is one of my family's favorite vacations to play games, eat yummy food, and spend time together with no distractions. A very close family friend passed away this past Sunday, so we came home yesterday to attend his funeral. So glad that my mom and dad have a houseboat and a ski boat. This is a great vacation and will be so fun when all of my sisters and I are married and have little kiddies. We LOVE Lake Powell! Here are some pictures from our Lake Powell trip...

WV Reception and Honeymoon
After our wedding day, we flew to West Virginia for our reception back east with Eric's family and friends. It was absolutely gorgeous! Eric's parents did a great job on it. My parents and sisters were there for that reception as well.
We thought about doing our honeymoon between receptions, but then we decided it would be best to go on our honeymoon after all the wedding celebrations were over. We wanted to go on our trip and not have to come home and worry about doing another reception. The day after the West Virginia reception, we left on our cruise to the Eastern Caribbean. It was amazing! We went to the Bahamas, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten. It was great to relax and spend time together as newlyweds.
The first stop was the Bahamas. There we did some shopping, went to the beach, and toured Nassau. Eric forgot his sunglasses, so we bought him some sunglasses. We also bought some postcards to remember where we had been. The beach was so pretty and the water was so clear it looked fake. We walked around town and had to stop at the McDonalds. Eric loves McDonalds and we were thirsty, so we stopped for a drink. The soda did not taste normal, but it was a drink so we were happy.
The second stop that we went to was St. Thomas. Here we did an excursion that took us on a tour of the island and then took us to one of the top 10 beaches in the world. We did lots of shopping and bought shirts, postcards, and other fun souvenirs to bring home. This was my favorite place that we stopped. The people were so nice and the place was beautiful. The tour also took us to Blackbeard's Castle. We toured around there and then went into the city and found a yummy chocolate place. St. Thomas was so pretty!
The last place that we stopped was St. Maarten. Here we did an excursion and we went on a Tiki Hut and went snorkeling. This was the best excursion that we did. Eric and I had a blast. We saw some pretty cool things in the water and there were so many fish. We would bring bread into the water and the fish would be swimming all around us. It was so fun. After we were done snorkeling, we went into the city and did some more shopping. I had fried myself so Eric bought me this cute floppy hat that I wore the rest of the trip and of course, postcards. We were so sunburned, but the last two days at sea it rained so we didn't get any sun those days.
We got lots of sun, ate yummy food, drank so many Strawberry Daiquiris and Pina Coladas, and had fun spending time together without any distractions. We had such a great time on our honeymoon!
