Wedding

On April 27th, Eric and I were sealed for time and all eternity in the Draper, Utah Temple. Elder John Carmack, a family friend and also in the quorum of the seventy, sealed us and it was absolutely perfect. We could not have had a better day. Wedding planning was a bit crazy and we were stressed but it ended up working out great and being a great day.

I got up super early on that morning probably because I didn't sleep at all that night. Buggy Douglas came over and did my hair and my make up and then I drove with my parents and my little sisters up to the Temple. I met Eric there and then we went into the temple and were married. All of our family and friends were there and it was a perfect sealing. After we got married, we changed and walked outside and there was all of our family and friends. We took pictures for like 2 hours after that and then we went to our luncheon. We were late to our luncheon but we figured everyone would wait for us. There were about 150 people there. It was a yummy luncheon at Thanksgiving Point in the Great room that overlooked the golf course. Everyone was there and it was fun to here my dad, Eric's dad, McCall, and Rachel all speak.

After the luncheon it was time to take more pictures. All of the grandparents, bridesmaids, groomsman, and the families were there and we took pictures for another two hours. My moms parents are serving a LDS mission in Little Rock, Arkansas but they were able to come home for the wedding so that was very special for us. By this point our cheeks hurt and we were tired of taking more and more pictures. We were able to drive around in a golf cart around the gardens at Thanksgiving Point so my dress didn't get filthy. It was the last day of the Tulip festival at Thanksgiving Point so all of the tulips were in full bloom and it was beautiful.

We got done taking pictures right when our reception was starting so we went in and had to keep on going. It was a beautiful reception! It was in the Garden room at Thanksgiving Point which overlooked all of the gardens. It was so pretty! Everything was just the way we had planned and nothing went wrong the whole day which I was surprised about. There were so many people at our reception that the line was down the stairs and it was pretty big. I think they said about 450 people came to this one. Then we had another one in WV with about 200 people there. I never thought we were going to get through all the people but we did and towards the end we started walking the line to get to everybody. We cut the cake, had the Daddy Daughter dance (Dad and I both cried the whole time so that was a tough one to get through), had our first dance, then the Mother and Son dance, and then I tossed the bouquet. We got ready to leave and when we left the girls had bubbles and the boys had sparklers. It is great on our Wedding video.

It was a perfect day! I felt so blessed to have all of my grandparents, family, and friends there to share our special day with us. My grandparents on my moms side are currently serving a mission for the Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. I was worried when I got engaged that they would not be able to be here with us on our Wedding day. They came two days before and were able to be in the Temple with us when we were sealed. I am so grateful that they were able to come and be here with us even when they are serving a full time mission. I do have to say that as I look back on my Wedding day, I am so glad that I have my pictures and my Wedding video. It is so fun to look back on and remember our special day. Now it is time to make new memories together and spend forever with each other. We can't wait!

Cecil Family Blog

It is two months today since we got married. Life has been crazy the past 2 months with Eric's graduation, the wedding, our honeymoon, and now we have been packing up all of our wedding gifts and getting ready to move. We are loving married life so far and are excited for all the many adventures to come. I thought that while Eric is working and I am finishing up school and preparing for a future family, I would take up blogging to journal all of our fun adventures as a newlywed couple and the years beyond that. I hope that I can stay on top of this online journal and that our future children will enjoy looking back and reading it. I am super excited about this.
